Iola police officers noticed a vehicle Thursday at Casey’s General Store, 712 E. Madison Ave., that matched the description of a vehicle stolen out of Elk County.
Upon the officers’ arrival, the suspect, Marvin K. Driskill Jr., Chanute, fled the scene, leading police on a brief pursuit that ended southeast of Iola.
The suspect was located near a residence and was taken into custody without further incident, Allen County sheriff’s deputies said.
Deputies and Kansas Highway Patrol troopers assisted with the chase.
Officers are requesting Driskill be charged with possession stolen property (felony), criminal damage to property (felony), driving while intoxicated, transporting an open container of alcohol, theft of motor fuel, fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement and other traffic charges.
He was taken to Allen County Jail, where he’s being held on $20,000 bond.
