Over the past few years, Humanity House has spearheaded efforts to make Iola’s downtown square a winter wonderland, replete with dozens of brightly decorated trees.
The goal this year is “to take it to the next level,” said Aaron Franklin.
Franklin, an Iola City Council member, is one of the volunteers who has helped hang the lights.
The goal, he said, is to make Iola a Christmas light destination.
For those interested in taking part in the discussion with Franklin and Tracy Keagle, Humanity House director, contact Humanity House via its Facebook page, call (620) 380-6664 or stop by the office at 509 N. State St.
