Driver rescued following crash

HUMBOLDT — Rescue crews responded to a wreck involving two vehicles Wednesday night in Humboldt’s downtown square.
The motor vehicle accident involved a Ford Taurus driven by Leigha Habiger, Humboldt, and a pickup truck driven by Jason Julich, Humboldt.
With Habiger were two juvenile passengers. Julich’s vehicle contained no

containing no passengers.        .
The Taurus, heading east on New York Street, failed to stop at a stop sign and “t-boned” the pickup truck as it headed south on 8th Street, according to Patrol Officer Andrea Umbarger.  There is no traffic control sign on 8th Street at that intersection.
The Taurus spun around to face west, and crossing 8th Street, came to a stop against the curb. Damage to the vehicle was extensive. Rescue workers had to pry off the driver’s side door to extricate Habiger who was transported along with the juvenile passengers to Allen County Regional Hospital with minor injuries. All three were wearing seatbelts.
Damage to the pickup was minimal and Julich was uninjured.
