Adam Christopher Weiner, 45, passed peacefully away Feb. 19, 2017 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He was born June 26, 1971, to Gregory Martin and Mary Ellen (Walker) Weiner in Chanute.

Adam grew up and attended school in Springfield, Mo. He married Rebecca Reser and they later divorced. In Springfield, he was employed by Associated Wholesale Grocers, Home Depot and Lowe’s.

After relocating to Chanute, he worked as assistant manager at Ron’s IGA and G&W Foods. Most recently, he worked for Russell Stover for 13 years.

He enjoyed country music, fishing, hunting, the Kansas Jayhawks, Kansas City Royals, Dallas Cowboys, his horses and spending time with family and friends.

Adam is survived by his mother, Mary Ellen Weiner, Chanute; daughter Lauren, Springfield, son Trevor, Iola; brother Timothy Weiner, Chanute; sister Amanda Baker and husband Bob, Emporia; and nieces Emily and Jayci and nephew Christopher.

Adam was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Eldron and Bethel (Coon) Walker, paternal grandparents, Carl Weiner, Elise (Weiner) Merkin and stepgrandfather Bryan Merkin; father, Gregory Martin Weiner; and brother, Gregory M. Weiner.

A Celebration of Life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Park Pavilion in Chanute.
