Anne Louthan

Anne Louthan, 64, died April 20, 2014, at Minneola Long Term Care Unit. She was born Oct. 8, 1949, in Kansas City, Mo., to Norman Franklin and Ida May (Kelley) McCown. She was a longtime Fowler resident and homemaker.

Anne was a member of the Friends Church and a former, longtime member of the Eastern Star.

On June 11, 1974, she married Dean A. Louthan at Clayton, N.M. He died Nov. 6, 1991.

Survivors include two sons, Frank Louthan, Springfield, Ore., and Mark Hahn, Pomona; one daughter, Beverly Mendenhall and husband Gary, Herington; sister, Kay Tindell, Iola; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services are 11 a.m., Friday, at the Friends Church in Fowler officiated by Pastor Dennis McDowell. Burial will follow in Fowler Cemetery. The family will greet friends at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday.

Thelma Alice Carnahan, 80, Iola, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2017, at Windsor Place in Iola. A memorial graveside service with inurnment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Marion Cemetery near Redfield.

Gurwell services

Funeral services for Millie Gurwell, 65, Moran, who died July 13, were pushed back a week because of inclement weather over the weekend. The service will begin at 5 p.m. this Saturday at Iola’s Highland Cemetery.
