Patrica Janette (Hobbs) Litherland, 70, Humboldt, passed away on Wednesday, June 22, 2016, in Topeka.

Patrica was born on Dec. 3, 1945 in Chanute, the daughter of Boyd W. Hobbs and Dorothy L. Beck.

She grew up in Toronto with her sister and cousins. Like most folks in a small town, they were all very close.  She graduated high school there and worked at the local burger stand across the street from her house.  Like lots of other kids she enjoyed hanging out, listening to music and watching movies.  She really enjoyed the Beatles when they came to America and that Elvis Presley guy was something else.

She attended classes at Chanute Junior College and worked as a waitress at a restaurant close to campus. While there, she met and fell in love with Lee Francis Litherland and they were married on Dec. 27, 1964, in Toronto. Lee preceded her in death on March 9, 1999.

Patrica worked primarily from the home, selling Stanley Home Products. Her group did so well one year that for their annual company trip they had booked Bob Hope and she got to meet him and shake his hand.  Later in life she had a job for some time working at the Day & Night Convenience Store in Humboldt.  When not working, she spent her time helping her children, serving as a Den Leader and Pack Leader with the Cub Scouts and the Boy Scouts.  She also was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Humboldt.  She had a wonderful singing voice and sang in the choir when it was big enough to have one.

Patrica is survived by sons Boyd Litherland and wife Monique, Topeka, Tracy Litherland, Topeka, and Wayne Litherland and wife Lettie, Seneca, Mo.; grandchildren, Erika Litherland, Clinton Litherland and Dylan Litherland and Lannum Litherland; and great-granddaughter, Sophia Mueller.

Patrica was preceded in death by her parents, Boyd Hobbs and Dorothy Beck; her husband, Lee; and her sister, Josephine “Jo” A. Lushbough.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Countryside Funeral Home in Humboldt. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Humboldt.
