Robert Leon Moyer, 63, Yates Center, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at his home.
He was born on Sept. 22, 1953, in Iola, the son of Edward and Doris (Schuster) Moyer.  He grew up in Iola and graduated from Iola High School in the Class of 1971. He worked for several years as a mechanic at Longbine Chevrolet in Emporia, then moved back to Iola and went to work installing plumbing for construction of nursing homes. On April 29, 1977, he was married to Barbara Culver at Iola.
He was a plumber with D&R Plumbing in Iola beginning in 1980. In 1992, he moved to Yates Center with his longtime companion, Kim, and he worked on highway construction projects with Beachner Construction until 2001.
As a young man, Robert was an accomplished baseball player, and through the years he enjoyed fishing, shooting pool, and playing cards and dominoes.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Stephen Moyer.
He is survived by his companion, Kim Moyer, of the home;  four children, Amanda Kincaid (William), Topeka, Dustin Moyer (Melanie), Westphalia, Savannah Moyer (Ethan Leach), Yates Center, and Lindsey Moyer, Emporia; six grandchildren, Matthew, Heidi and Gracie Moyer, Kaelyn Leach and Zechariah and Anabel Kincaid; a brother, Brian Klepper, Overland Park; a sister, Ramona Moyer, Iola; and many other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Cedarvale Cemetery in Neosho Falls.  Memorial contributions to the “Robert Moyer Memorial Fund” may be sent in care of Campbell Funeral Home, PO Box 188, Yates Center KS 66783.
