Wade D. Fry, 76, Lansing, passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at home from complications of Parkinson’s disease.

He was born June 11, 1939, at Glendale, Calif., to Forrest and Ellen Fry and spent most of his young life in Iola, graduating from Iola High School. Wade served four years in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ticonderoga. He and his family moved to Leavenworth where he worked at Fort Leavenworth Media Support Center as an offset photographer. After retiring from civil service he was employed by the Leavenworth County Council on Aging as a van driver.

Wade is survived by Mary, his wife of 55 years; three sons, Doug and Annette Fry, Jacksonville, Fla., Jeff and Cyndi Fry, Lansing, and Steve and Michelle Fry, Pleasant Hill, Mo.; five grandchildren, Jessie and Derek DeClue, Olathe, Bryce Nelson, Lee’s Summit, Mo., Brittney and Brooke Fry, Orlando, Fla., and Brandon Fry, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; one great-grandchild, Makayla DeClue; five brothers and one sister.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leavenworth County Council on Aging. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Chapel, with the funeral service to follow at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Leavenworth National Cemetery.
