IHS, IMS volleyball take the court

Iola High’s varsity and freshman team, as well as Iola Middle’s eighth-grade team, played Tuesday afternoon.
The Fillies traveled to Garnett to face off against Central Heights and Anderson County.
The varsity squad lost its match against Central Heights in three sets (23-25, 25-16, 25-16) and lost against Anderson County in two sets (25-8, 25-15).
The freshman team also played the Bulldogs and Vikings on Tuesday, but the freshman Fillies won both of those matchups.
Against Anderson County, IHS won in two sets (25-10, 25-20).
Against Central Heights, IHS also won in just two sets (25-15, 25-17).
Meanwhile, Iola Middle School sent its eighth-grade team to Chanute.
The Ponies, who played their last matches of the year on Tuesday, lost to Chanute (25-20, 25-17), Independence (25-16, 25-7) and Meadowview Middle School (32-30, 25-20).
