PLEASANTON — Crest High secured a 55-26 win on the road against Pleasanton Tuesday.
Thanks to a huge second-quarter scoring outburst, the Lancers eased to victory. Crest outscored Pleasanton 32-5 in the quarter.
“Offensively, we weren’t great. But, we are getting better,” coach Travis Hermreck said. “We were able to generate a lot of our offense on defense, and did a good job getting out and running the floor.”
Hunter Frazell scored a team-high 16 points, while also swiping the ball five times and dishing out three assists. Evan Godderz scored 14 points in the win, while grabbing seven rebounds. Austin Green scored nine points, grabbed five rebounds and had five steals. Brandon Brallier scored seven points and grabbed seven rebounds.
“Hunter and Evan did a good job managing the game for us, and Gage (Adams) and Colton (Strickler) gave us a big spark off the bench,” Hermreck said.
Crest is off for the holiday break and resumes play at Northeast-Arma Jan. 6.
LE ROY — Southern Coffey County High’s Titans lost a close game, 54-49, to Lebo on Tuesday.
The difference in the game came in the first half, with Lebo taking a 24-19 lead. Each team scored 30 points in the second half.
Chonnor Ludolph, Josiah Witteman and Walker Harred did all the scoring for the Titans. Harred led the team with 21 points, Witteman scored 17 and Ludolph added 11.
The Titans travel to Marais des Cygnes Valley Friday to wrap things up before the Christmas break.
HUMBOLDT — Humboldt High’s Lady Cubs streaked past Yates Center, 46-17, Tuesday.
“The girls did a good job of pressuring the ball and forced 21 turnovers,” coach Aubrey Jones said. “They also held the Wildcats to only one point in the third quarter.”
Lakota Wilson led the team with 13 points and Makaylah McCall followed with nine. Delaney Umholtz scored five points, Madison Kellar added four, Annalise Whitcomb scored three, Tilar Wells and Breanna Kline each scored two, while Rylan Wilhite and Cheyenne English each added a free throw.
The Lady Cubs travel to Neodesha on Friday.
