“It was good to get this win after losing to them last year in the championship,” Splechter said.
The Lady Cubs eked out a three-set victory over Parsons. Humboldt lost the second set, 31-29, but won the first set, 25-12, and tiebreaker, 25-20. “Even though we lost, we probably played our best volleyball in this match,” Splechter said.
Humboldt lost its final match in three sets to Neodesha. The Lady Cubs won the first set, 25-23, then lost 25-11 and the tiebreaker, 25-15. Whitcomb had 19 assists and an ace.
