Marmaton Valley, SCC, Crest, Yates Center see volleyball seasons end

OSWEGO — Marmaton Valley and Yates Center each had their volleyball seasons cut short by the same opponent on Saturday at the 2A sub-state tournament in Oswego.
Eighth-seeded Yates Center fell in the opening round to top-seeded Oswego, 25-14 and 25-18.
Fourth-seeded Marmaton Valley was able to beat fifth-seeded Sedan in the first round by matching 25-20 scores in each set.
Marmaton Valley couldn’t top eventual sub-state champion Oswego in the semi-finals, however, and they lost 25-16 and 25-12.

CREST
The Lancers fell in the semi-finals of their 1A-II sub-state against second-seeded Marais des Cygnes  Valley in Waverly.
The third-seeded Lancers lost 25-8 and 25-18 in straight sets.

SCC
Fourth-seeded Southern Coffey County beat fifth-seeded St. Paul 25-15 and 25-21 in straight sets in the 1A-I sub-state tournament in St. Paul.
The Titans were eliminated in the semi-finals by eventual sub-state champion Lebo, 25-13, 25-12.
