MVHS goes 2-2 at Uniontown tournament

Marmaton Valley volleyball went 2-2 at the Uniontown Tournament on Saturday. They recorded wins over Yates Center and Galena while falling to Riverton and the host Lady Eagles.
The Lady Wildcats opened up the tournament with a 2-0 win over Three Rivers League foe Yates Center (25-18, 25-23).
Shayla Brooks led the way with 10 kills  while Megan Ensminger had nine points. Patricia Outlan had eight kills and three blocks and Clara Boyd and Paige Becker each recorded seven points.
Marmaton Valley then fell 0-2 to Riverton (16-25, 16-25).
Brooks had four points and two kills and Outlan had three kills and two blocks.
The Lady Wildcats then faced their other league opponent, Uniontown, losing in straight sets (15-25, 15-25).
Outan had eight kills and Makayla Brooks and Bailey Griffith had three kills. 
The Wildcats closed out the tournament with a 2-0 win over Galena (25-14, 25-15).
Outlan was big at the net, recording 11 kills and two blocks while Trinitee Gutierrez and Boyd had eight points. Griffith had nine points.
They will play again at Uniontown to close out the regular season next Tuesday.
