Pony volleyball 8th-graders have little trouble in hosting Prairie View

The Iola 8th grade volleyball team hosted Prairie View on Monday with their A and B teams rolling to a win while the C-Team fell in a close loss. 
The A-Team played a three out of five match while the B and C-teams played best two out of three.
The A-Team swept Prairie View in three sets (25-15, 25-12, 25-20)
Logan Ulrich was the stand- out, recording five aces, six kills and an assist.
“Logan Ulrich had a solid game and played with great control,” head coach Terri Carlin said. “She has been working on keeping her hits and serves in and finding open spots.”
 Chloe Sell also had a great night serving and setting the ball with 7 aces and 7 assists and Jenna Curry continued to be a force at the net racking up 8 kills and 3 blocks.
Ally Ellis pitched in an ace, 3 assists and 2 kills, Reece Murry had 2 aces and 3 kills and Triniti Loveall had an ace and a kill.
The B-Team continued the dominance, sweeping the Lady Buffalos in two sets (25-8, 27-25).
Mariah VanNice had 5 aces, 2 assists, and 1 kill, Miah Shelby had 4 aces and 1 kill, Triniti Loveall had 5 aces and a kill and Hannah Hall added an ace and a kill.
The C-Team recorded the Ponies’ only loss of the night losing set one 20-25, winning set two 25-11 and falling in set three 13-15.
VanNice was the leading server with 8 aces. She also had a kill.
Shelby had 4 aces and an assist, Hall had 3 aces and  Noah, Elizabeth Baker and Eve Ard each added an ace.
The Ponies will host Burlington on Thursday.
