Allen County Community College’s Red Devils were behind 7-3 to visiting Fort Scott Community College’s Greyhounds after three full innings of play. Then the rain came Thursday afternoon.
The rain that came through and more that rumbled through late in the night put a crimp in scheduled sporting events for area high schools and for ACCC.
Humboldt High’s softball and baseball tournaments for today have been postponed. Teams from Humboldt, Iola, Yates Center and Neodesha were in the tournaments. No makeup day has been set yet.
Marmaton Valley High’s softball and baseball teams were to have hosted St. Paul High’s teams Thursday. The rain brought the games to a halt about midway through the first of two. No makeup day has been set.
Allen County will have Fort Scott back in Iola Wednesday for the Jayhawk Eastern Division doubleheader. Play resumes where it left off in the first game at 3 p.m.
As of this morning, the Fredonia high school track meet was still on for Iola, Humboldt and Yates Center.
