PITTSBURG — ACC sophomore Kaitlyn Shoemaker stole the show this weekend at the Jayhawk East and Region VI Championships.
Shoemaker won conference titles in the mile, 3000 meters and 5000 meters while winning all three events for the region as well.
The Red Devils also picked up a regional championship in the men’s 800 meters where freshman Anthony Glasgow was able to win with a time of 1:54.63. He won the same event in the conference portion of the meet.
Other conference champions for Allen Community College were Ricardo Banuelos in the 3000 meters, Phillip Langemann in the mile — where he went 1-2 with teammate Jesus Gutierrez — and the men’s distance medley where Ryan Yarde, Carlton Tarpley, Vinny Butera and Banuelos teamed up.
In the conference team race,  the men took third and the women took fourth. In the region, the men took fifth and the women took seventh out of 14 teams.

WOMEN’S BASKETBALL
The Red Devils and Kendra Houston let out some frustration on Saturday afternoon in a 97-54 drubbing of Dodge City Community College.
Houston — who has seen up and down playing time this season — went 6-for-6 from three-point land and led the Red Devils with 18 points.
It wasn’t just a one-person show for Allen, however, as both Akia Andrews and Damonica Franklin had double-doubles. Franklin had 13 points and 10 rebounds while Andrews had 14 and 11.
