Three Wildcats earn league honors

Yates Center juniors Maria Jimenez and Allison Pringle and sophomore Taylor Jacobs were named to the Three Rivers League’s All-League Volleyball honors, released last week.
Pringle was an All-League first team unanimous selection making her one of three different players and the only junior in the league to unanimously earn selection. Pringle was also an All-Area Grassland second-team selection.
Pringle had an 89.3 serving percentage with 46 aces to go along with 113 kills with a .130 hitting percentage. She also had 39 assists, 78 blocks, 118 service receptions and 205 digs while averaging 7.9 points per set.
Jacobs was an All-League second-team selection and an All-Area Grassland honorable mention. Jacobs had an 88.4 serving percentage and 70 aces. Jacobs also had 145 kills with a .110 hitting percentage with 307 assists, 36 blocks, 10 service receptions, 214 digs while averaging 7.9 points per set.
Lastly, Jimenez was an All-League honorable mention with a 96.7 serving percentage with 42 aces with 123 kills and .147 hitting percentage. She also had 13 assists, a block, 200 service receptions, 253 digs while averaging 5.2 points per set.
The Wildcats ended their season in the sub-state championship match.
Yates Center loses just two seniors off of the 2017 team going into next season.
