HUMBOLDT — Carl A. Reynolds, 73, former mayor of Humboldt and veteran Allen County editor, died early this morning at his home. Three weeks ago he completed his third term as mayor of Humboldt. In 1898, Reynolds purchased the Savonburg Record and operated it until 1913. He had purchased the Humboldt Union in 1912 and devoted his full time to it after selling the Record. He published the Union until 1948 when he sold it to its present owners, Mr. and Mrs. F.L. Ferris. He served as postmaster of Humboldt from 1921 to 1934.
