Arrests reported
Iola police officers arrested Billie Buck and David Rogers on July 24 for suspicion of possessing marijuana, stimulants and drug paraphernalia in the 400 block of Kansas Drive.
On July 21, John Maier, 39, Iola, was arrested for suspicion of domestic battery after police were called to a “rolling disturbance” in a vehicle that started near the 2200 block of North State Street.
Alexandria Murphy was arrested July 13 in the 200 block of West Jackson Avenue for suspected child abuse, officers said.
On July 9, officers arrested Donald Leapheart Jr. in the 800 block of North Chestnut Street for a reported violation of a protection order.
Officers arrested Troy Harlin, 58, Hutchinson, on July 7 in the 1000 block of North State Street for three separate warrants.
Battery alleged
Iola police officers cited Lloyd Moore with one count of battery July 17 in the 600 block of East Garfield Street.
Bicyclist hits pickup
Elton M. Underhill was riding a bicycle on the outside lane of State Street the afternoon of July 8, and was attempting to go eastbound onto Broadway Street when he struck the rear end of a southbound pickup driven by Daniel R. Ware.
Iola police officers said Underhill was checked out by an ambulance crew for possible injury, but was not transported to the hospital.
Vehicles collide
Travis L. Walters was northbound on South Buckeye Street and collided with an eastbound vehicle driven by Kollyn B. Ellis the evening of July 19.
Neither driver was injured, nor were passengers riding with Ellis, Iola police officers said.
Tractor stolen
Machine Shed employees told Iola police officers July 14 somebody stole a Kubota tractor and damaged another in the 1400 block of East Street.
