Local activities Wednesday to commemorate Sept. 11 attack victims included presentations from Air Force Veteran and LaHarpe Veterans of Foreign Wars member Kim Swearingen, who spoke to Greystone Residential Care residents about the 9/11 attacks and their aftermath.

An additional part of the LaHarpe VFW program was to recognize Greystone resident Juanita Seibert for her service with the U.S. Navy as a codebreaker during World War II. An article detailing Seibert’s story will be in Saturday’s Register.
