Self-defense training was the theme of a six-hour workshop Saturday hosted by Hope Unlimited, an Iola-based organization that serves victims of domestic and sexual abuse. Above, Hope Unlimiteds Lori Holman performs a maneuver with Earnest Moeland, one of the instructors. At right, assistant instructor Candie Campbell straddles lead instructor Darryl Mobley as he demonstrates how to escape while being choked. Below, Mobley demonstrates a technique with a group of youngsters. A second training session for anybody 12 or older will be June 2 because of the strong demand for the class.
