Two incumbents have filed for Allen County Commission seats.
John Brocker, appointed to the Third District seat for the remainder of this year, filed in late April for election to the remaining two-year unexpired term created when Jim Talkington resigned earlier this year. Jerry Daniels filed Friday morning for a second four-year term in District 1.
Bruce Symes, who finished second in the appointment process to fill Talkingtons seat, has taken out a petition and has indicated plans to file when he has a sufficient number of signers.
If two or more in either race file under a single partys banner all in the running to date are Republicans a primary election will be on Aug. 7.
The deadline to file is noon June 1.
Specifically, here are what make up districts 1 and 3:
District 1: Cottage Grove, Elsmore, Humboldt, Logan, Marmaton and Salem townships; Elsmore, Humboldt, Moran and Savonburg.
District 3: South Iola Township, Bassett and the First, Third and Fourth wards of Iola.
Tom Williams represents the remainder of the county. His seat will come up for election in November 2020.
