Twenty-five years ago this summer, the boyhood home of Maj. Gen. Frederick Funston was moved to the Iola square.
The home, originally built north of Iola on what is now Old 169 Highway, was brought downtown the afternoon of July 28, 1994.
Moran historian Larry Manes will speak about the effort to facilitate the move, complete with a photo slideshow, at the Allen County Historical Societys summer meeting tonight.
The 7 oclock presentation is in the Frederick Funston Meeting Hall, 207 N. Jefferson Ave.
The public is invited. Refreshments will be served afterward.
