A volunteer group is being organized to prepare and distribute information to voters prior to the general election Nov. 2, when the proposal to build a new Allen County Hospital will be decided.
Anyone who wants to help may attend one of two meetings Wednesday or Thursday. Each will start at 7:30 p.m. in the Mary Ellen Stadler Room on the basement level of the hospital.
Those attending either meeting will be given a brief tour of the hospital and overview of the proposal, the plan to distribute information in the coming weeks and a list of people and responsibilities of the tentative six teams that have been created.
Iolan Jim Gilpin and Don Copley, Humboldt, are co-chairman of the effort.
“Many people who attended the public meeting for the report of the hospital consultants on Aug. 2 signed up to help and we are using them as the nucleus of teams,” Gilpin said. “But, we need lots more help.”
“We welcome anyone interested in helping us get the information out to voters so that they may make an informed decision in November,” Copley said.
Each meeting should conclude by 9 o’clock.
