Richard Jones, 20, Iola, died early Sunday after the vehicle he was driving ran off a curve on an Allen County road and came to rest upside down in Owl Creek about two miles west of Humboldt.
Sheriff Tom Williams said Jones had left a party about 2 a.m. south of where the accident occurred and a passerby noticed the vehicle in the creek at 10:45 a.m. and called authorities. He also said that the way the vehicle was resting in the creek, Jones would have been unable to exit it.
Funeral services will be announced later by Feuerborn Family Fun-eral Service of Garnett.
