Michelle De La Isla, who is running as a Democrat for a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, will be in Iola at 2 p.m. Monday for a meet-and-greet with local residents.

De La Isla, 43, was voted Topeka’s first Latina mayor in the city’s history in 2017
She is the only Democrat in the race. Incumbent Steve Watkins is opposed on the Republican side by State Treasurer Jake LaTurner.
