Iola city crews erected the light standards for school crossing signals along North Kentucky Street Tuesday.

The signals mark what will become Iola’s newest school zone when Iola Elementary School opens its doors in August.

The signals were placed at the intersection of Kentucky and U.S. 54 to the south and Monroe Street to the north.
