A former Allen County Jail employee has been charged with battery against an inmate.
The Allen County Sheriff’s office announced Thursday that Stephanie Vest has been charged with battery, via the Allen County Attorney’s office.
According to an ACSD press release, the sheriff’s office contacted the Kansas Bureau of Investigation Dec. 17 for assistance regarding allegations of misconduct.
The KBI conducted its investigation and presented the findings to County Attorney Brandon Cameron, who then filed the charge in Allen County District Court.
The alleged incidents reportedly occurred in 2024 and 2025 while Vest was an employee, according to the press release.
She was placed on administrative leave while the investigation was conducted, and later terminated.
