A body believed to be that of Richard Stahl, 61, of Gas,  who had been reported missing June 10, has been found.

Relatives posted on social media the discovery Monday afternoon, the same day an out-of-state search team had been assembled to help look for Stahl.

Allen County Sheriff Anthony Maness said the body was found in the 1200 block of 2000 Street — the far southwestern outskirts of Gas — shortly after 2:30 p.m., and that the body matches Stahl’s description.

Evidence suggested the death was self-inflicted, Maness said. The body has been sent for an autopsy, and for positive identification.

Family members reported Stahl missing Wednesday after last seeing him that morning. He had reportedly left a goodbye note, as well as his medication, wallet, phone and other personal effects.
