NEODESHA — Two young parents and their 2-year-old son were killed in a two-vehicle accident just west of Neodesha Monday.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Adam and Kylie Brooks, both 21, and their son, Kohen, were killed when their car, driven by Adam Brooks entered U.S. 400 from a county road, and into the path of an oncoming semitractor-trailer rig driven by Marvin L. Lea, 59, El Dorado, shortly before 6 a.m. Monday.
Adam Brooks was transported to Wilson Medical Center in Neodesha, where he was pronounced dead. Kohen Brooks was pronounced dead at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Kylie Brooks was pronounced dead at the scene.
None was wearing a seat belt.
Lea was not injured, troopers said, and was wearing a seat belt.
KOAM TV reported a family friend established a GoFundMe account to assist the Brooks family with funeral expenses.
