HUMBOLDT — Students in Humboldt’s elementary and middle schools will get extra help after school.
Kay Bolt, principal at both schools, told USD 258 board members Monday evening about the tutoring program sponsored by Emprise Bank. Students in grades 3-8 will receive the tutoring in math and reading, Bolt said.
Emprise donated $1,500 to get the program off the ground.
In an otherwise brief meeting, Bolt also told board members about new playground equipment being purchased for the elementary school by members of the Humboldt Elementary Leaders and Parents (HELP) group geared for fourth- and fifth-graders. The new equipment will relieve congestion during recess.
Bolt said parents and other volunteers will be sought to help install the equipment. She also is pursuing grant funding to purchase materials to cover the ground beneath the new equipment.
