Beatrice “Bea” Elizabeth Hottenstein of Humboldt, whose death on Saturday and funeral services, Rosary and memorials were published in Wednesday’s Register, was born June 21, 1925, in Fort Madison, Iowa, to Ross and Catherine (Temborius) Saddler. She graduated from St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Fort Madison in 1943.
She liked spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Humboldt.
She is survived by two sons; Paul Jr. and his wife, Linda, Cedar Hill, Texas, and Richard and his wife, Timmee, Humboldt; four daughters, Mary Hess, LaHarpe, Liz Hottenstein, Humboldt, Linda Thummel and her husband, Bob, Puyallup, Wash., and Diane Hiser and her husband, Robin, Independence; a sister, Sister Ruth Saddler, SSND, St. Louis, Mo.; six grandsons, Michael Thummel, Puyallup, Rick Hottenstein Jr., Humboldt, Brian Hess, Wichita, Brandon Hiser, Independence, Brett Hess, Milwaukee, Wis., and Paul Hottenstein III, Cedar Hill; six granddaughters, Leslie Luman, Chanute, Stephanie Woodward, Vancouver, Canada, Michelle Hawkins, Nixa, Mo., Lisa Hugo, Independence, and Bobbie Haviland and Loni Wilhite, Humboldt; and 28 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, John Ryan Hottenstein, three sisters, Mildred Saddler, Rosemary Saddler and Gladys Salata-Harry, and a son-in-law, Chuck Hess.
