Funeral service for Buford William Johnson of Bronson, whose death Friday was reported in Saturday’s Register, were this morning in Bronson’s Baptist Church. Burial was in Bronson Cemetery with the Rev. Rob Mauk officiating.
He was born Nov. 23, 1915, in Uniontown, the son of William Emry and Leota Blanche Ramsey Johnson. He was a graduate of Uniontown High School.
On May 21, 1939, he married Reta Mae Ermel in Fort Scott. In his earlier years, he worked at Holt Dairy and delivered milk to the Bronson and Uniontown areas. The couple lived for a time in Colorado where he owned a ranch. They later returned to Bronson where he worked for Bronson Grain Company for 35 years. He liked to fish and attend his grandchildren’s sporting events. He was also an avid Chiefs fan. He was a member of Bronson’s Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of the home; two sons, Vlad and his wife, Donna, Wamego, and Wesley and wife, Billie Sue, Bronson; two daughters, Judy Wilson and her husband, Rex, Bronson, and Ronda Murrow, Uniontown; 12 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren. 
A brother, Russell, died earlier.
