Lola Jean Turley, 82, of Kansas City and formerly of Iola, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at Kansas City Hospice House.
She was born March 12, 1928, in Colony, to George and Ella Louise (Keyser) Cline. She graduated from Iola High School where she was the letter girl “I” in the marching band. She worked for J.C. Penney and Fairmont Creamery in Iola.
On April 10, 1948, she married Jim H. Turley. They made their home briefly in Iola before moving to Kansas City. He died July 28, 2010.
She is survived by two sons, Mark, Gardner, and Rick, Parkville, Mo.; a daughter, Karen Kay Corbett, Albuquerque, N.M.; a half sister, Eilene Adams, Yates Center; and six grandchildren.
A brother, Gerald Cline, half brother, Earl Cline, and half sisters, Bernita Oelker and Barbara “Bobbie” Smith, died earlier.
Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the LaHarpe Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Memorial Chapel in Iola at 1 p.m. before leaving for the cemetery.
