3rd ranked Red Devils and 4th ranked Lady Devils run on Saturday

The Allen County men and women’s cross country teams divided and conquered on Saturday. The women went to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the Chile Pepper XC Festival while the men made the trip to Stillwater, Okla. for the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree.
The men are currently ranked third in the country while the women are ranked fourth.
The women ran against all divisions of collegiate competition on Saturday and finished 23rd overall out of 45 teams. They finished 11th out of D2, NAIA, NJCAA teams and were one of the top junior college teams.
Sophomore Abby Steinhauer was the leader for the Lady Devils, finishing 71st out of 381 runners with a time of 5:49.6 with freshman Amber Gloria finishing second for Allen with a time of 5:51.6 which was good for 133rd place,
Karen Perez (5:58.0) finished right behind Gloria in 136th place while Betty Ramos (5:54) finished four places below Perez at 140th.
Alexus Castor-Inscho (5:58.2) finished 161st, Esmeralda Rodriguez (6:08.7) finished 166th, Gemma Gonzalez (6:13.8) finished 179th, Maria Puente (6:01.5) finished 195th, Mallory Westhoff (6:31.7) finished 237th, Ciera Bennett (6:22.9) finished 256th, Jessica Finney (6:22.8) finished 273rd, Megan Klubek (6:36.9) finished 282nd, Kelsey Carpenter (6:28.3) finished 293rd and Jaelyn Casanova (6:39.5) finished 311th.
Meanwhile in Stillwater, the men had a very successful outing, finishing second as a team behind 16th ranked D-2 University of St. Mary.
King Berry had the top spot for the Red Devils, finishing fourth with a time of 26:16.0. Paul Becker (26:44.3) and Anthony Glasgow (26:45.0) also had a top 10 finish, finishing 9th and 10th respectively.
Joshua Clethen (26:51.6) finished 12th, Raul Sanchez (27:15.1) finished 20th, Alejandro Ruiz (27:19.8) finished 22nd and Yoel Yoel (27:36.2) finished 30th.
The men will compete in the Fort Hays State open on Saturday while the women will head to the Ollie Isom Invite in El Dorado on Oct 16.
