KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Allen Community College’s soccer teams didn’t let the sting of defeat last for long.

The Red Devils bounced back from a pair of tough losses Saturday to Cowley by taking out some road aggression at Metropolitan Community College.

The Allen men dominated from the outset, roaring home with an 8-0 victory.

The Red Devil women, after dropping their first regular season game since 2019, rebounded with a 3-1 victory over MCC.

The victories come as both teams prepare for another road trip Sunday, where they’ll take on Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.

SCORING chances came early and often for the Red Devil men.

Cillian Gilligan hammered home a free kick in the game’s fourth minute. Gabriel Olimba made it 2-0 20 minutes into the match by heading in a corner kick from just outside the 18-yard box.

And while Allen came up empty on multiple scoring opportunities for the balance of the half, the Red Devils didn’t let that deter them after the break.

Men Mnqathu tapped in a rebound off of a Jordan Mase shot at the 47-minut emark. Mase then buried in a strike from outside the box off of a Tiago Troyano assist five minutes later.

Gilligan took a Troyano assist to blast his second goal of the day in the 55th minute. Daniel Galindo followed 5 minutes later by dribbling past several MCC defenders for a perfectly placed shot past the goalkeeper.

Brooklyn Vodo fed Murilo Lema for the seventh goal. Vodo then got his shot to score off an assit from Brauillo Lopez with 10 minutes remaining.

James Hobson and Oscar Briggs both saw extensive action in goal, stopping two shots apiece to preserve the clean sheet.

AFTER last week’s loss to Cowley, the Allen women’s defense was back to its normal dominating self against MCC.

Maci Beachler opened and closed the scoring. Her first goal of the day came from a Claudia Zahui assist in the 20th minute.
