ARKANSAS CITY — Allen County Community College’s cross country runners concluded their 2010 season Monday at the NJCAA Region VI/Jayhawk Conference meet hosted by Cowley County Community College.
The lone runner for the ACCC women was Amanda Sharp. She ran the 5K race in 25 minutes, 35.30 seconds. She finished 43rd among Jayhawk Eastern Division runners and 87th in the Region VI rankings.
For the ACCC men, Seth Browning was the top finisher. Browning posted a personal-best time of 29:06.97 for the men’s 8K race. He was 26th in the Jayhawk East and 68th in the region.
Travis Kyte fought through leg cramps during the race, finishing 29th in the East and 74th overall in 29:23.38.
Patrick Johnson ran the race in 31:17.28 for 33rd among Jayhawk East runners and 87th in the region. Dallas Wright finished in 37th in the East and 92nd overall in 37:05.49. Both were personal best times for the runners.
On Oct. 22, the ACCC runners competed in the Ollie Isom Invitational hosted by Butler Community College in El Dorado.
Sharp was 64th in the women’s 4K race in 21:39. Browning placed 61st in the men’s 5K in 18:17.
Kyte ran 67th in 18:26 with Wright finishing 85th in 23:19.
Several of the Red Devil runners plan to run in the NJCAA Half Marathon Championships Nov. 20 in Overland Park.
