PITTSBURG — Allen County Special Olympics competed April 28 at the Southeast Kansas Area Track Meet at Pittsburg State University’s Plaster Center.
The competition was the first for new member Riley Olson, who took first in the turbo javelin and the tennis ball throw, while finishing second in his 50-meter race.
Ty Johnson took second in his 200-meter walk, second in his 50-meter race and first in the 400-meter walk.
Casey Riebel took third in his 200-meter walk, second in his 50-meter race and first in the softball throw.
Ian Webber took second in the turbo javelin, fourth in his 50-meter race and second in the 400-meter walk.
The Special Olympians will take part in various activity days in May before starting bowling practice June 1 in Yates Center.
