Humboldt cross country found success at Eureka on Tuesday as the varsity boys finished second as a team, with three eighth-grade runners in the top 10.
The eighth-grade boys led by 11th-place Seth Barlow (19:47) placed in the top five for the first time this season.
Drew Wilhite was 16th (19:57), Luke Yokum was 25th (21:22), Caleb Coronado was 31st (21:45), Thane Meadows was 51st (23:49), Cooper Woods finished 65th (29:27) and Noah Carson was 67th (45:47).
On the girls side, Madi White finished 27th (29:28), Zoey Wilson finished 30th (29:21), Taylor Korte was 40th (31:52), Alex Melendez finished 41st (32:08) and Brookllen Gardner was 52nd (40:58).
The three eighth-graders who competed did rather well, led on the girls side by Lulu Melendez who finished fifth (16:11) and Leah Mueller who finished right behind in sixth (17:10). Javyn Hess ran on the boys side and ended up in eighth (13:34).
On Thursday, Humboldt will wrap up its regular season with the league meet at Allen Community College.
