Devils split with Ravens

COFFEYVILLE — Allen County Community College’s baseball team split a doubleheader with Coffeyville Community College last Saturday.
Coffeyville rolled to a 10-3 win in the opener game on its home field. The Red Ravens led 3-1 after two innings.
Allen County scored twice in the third. Bretton Ater and Marcus Peavler drew walks. Connor McCrite singled to load the bases. With one out, Michael Schell walked then Ryan Fike singled in two runs.
Allen County tied the game when Wyatt Hall scored on a one-out triple by Ater in the fourth.
Coffeyville got the run back in its half of the inning then added four runs in the fifth. The Ravens tacked on two runs in the sixth.
David Ormiston was the losing pitcher for ACCC. He pitched four innings, surrendering four runs on four hits, four walks and two hit batters. He struck out four. Cody Wren pitched two innings, allowing six runs on five hit, two walks and one hit batter with one strikeout.
McCrite had two singles. Ater tripled. Hitting a single apiece were Schell, Fike, Riley Price and Brumley.
Brumley drove in six runs in Allen County’s 16-7 win in the nine-inning contest. He had a three-run triple in a four-run first inning for ACCC.
Brumley drew a walk to force in a run in a six-run sixth. He doubled in two runs in the ninth.
McCrite was 4-for-6 at the plate with four singles. Stefaan Jefferson had two doubles and three RBIs. Schell hit two singles and a double.
Peavler doubled. Ater, Fike and Hall each had a single.
Mark Thompson got the win on the mound, pitching five innings. He allowed six runs on four hits, four walks and two hit batters with four strikeouts.
Ben Pearson pitched three innings, giving up one run on two hits and one walk plus struck out five. Aaron Burke walked one and struck out three in one inning of work.
