UNIONTOWN — Uniontown High’s Eagle girls were part of a perfect softball game Thursday. They were on the losing end of an 8-0 decision.
Central Heights High’s Lady Vikings’ Carly Schultz pitched a perfect game. Central Heights led 1-0 until a seven-run fourth. She had 13 strikeouts in seven innings.
Tayler Shook took the loss for the Eagles. She gave up six hits, walked 10 and hit one batter. She struck out seven.
“Their pitcher completely dominated us. She faced the minimum of 21 batters and even when we hit the ball it was right at them,” said Alan Shinn, UHS softball head coach.
“We made too many mistakes defensively against a good team. We are a better team than we showed Thursday.”
In a junior varsity game, Central Heights won 4-3.

AT BRONSON, Uniontown High’s Eagle boys got rolled 14-4 by Central Heights High’s Vikings. The Vikings scored eight runs in the second to win in six innings.
Jake Dawson pitched 12⁄3 innings for the loss, allowing nine runs on four hits, three walks and hit two batters. Tyler Hall pitched 41⁄3 innings and gave up five runs on five hits and two walks. He struck out three and Dawson had two strikeouts.
Hitting a single each for the Eagles were Hall, Max Labbe, Jordan Woods, Anthony Myers and DuShaun Robinson.
In a junior varsity contest, the teams played to a 7-7 tie. Uniontown got a double from Domonic Robinson and a single each from Hall, Kyle Mills, Brandon Weyant and Michael Decker.
