Former IHS track athletes compete at national meets

Emily Middleton and Josh Honeycutt were at the 2010 NCAA Division II National Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. Jackie Rogers competed in the 2010 NAIA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
All three are former Iola High School standouts.
Middleton, a senior at Pittsburg State finished 14th in the women’s high jump at 5 feet, 53⁄4 inches. Middleton had won the NW Missouri State Bearcat Open April 20 with a jump of 5’7”.
Honeycutt, a junior at Emporia State, earned All-American honors for the second straight year in the triple jump.
He was fourth at the national meet at 50’8”.
Honeycutt placed ninth in the long jump, 23’63⁄4”.
The NCAA Division II national track meet was in Charlotte, N.C.
Rogers is a junior at Bethany College in Lindsborg.
She placed 17th in the women’s hammer throw at the NAIA meet in Marion, Ind., with a throw of 152’1”.
