They may not have been dominant up top, but the Humboldt boys cross country team bunched together in the middle and placed third at the 2A Burlington regional tournament on Saturday, qualifying them as a team for the state meet.

The Cubs scored 114 points, which were five points better than fourth place Whitewater-Remington and two points behind second-place St. Marys Colgan.

Freshman Drew Wilhite led the Cubs with an 11th place finish with a time of 18:26:68.
