The light drizzle didn?t keep the AA Iola Indians from taking two w?s last night in Burlington for an American Legion doubleheader.
Iola took the first game comfortably 8-1 in seven-innings, and followed that up with a shutout in the final game 4-0 in five-innings.
Isaac Vink was in a groove for game 1. The righty allowed only four hits to go along with six strikeouts in five innings of work.
I was able to talk to Isaac on what helped him get in a rhythm, along with head coach Jason Bauer?s thoughts on the two wins and Isaac.

Q&A with Isaac Vink:
EM: What was your mindset heading out tonight?
IV: I just felt confident because I have a great defense behind me. If I just throw strikes they are going to make plays for me.
EM: What do you do before games to get you set-up before a mound appearance?
IV: I just make sure my arm is throwing well and throw a nice little bullpen. I make sure all my pitches are where I want to be and go from there.
EM: What kind of confidence does your coach give you?
IV: A ton I think?sometimes. He thinks I mess around too much which is probably pretty true. He has confidence in all of us. We won state last year and he knows we can play.
EM: Coach says you are kind of the jokester? How does that loose attitude help you?
IV: I think that it helps the team relax and focus on the little things and not take everything so seriously all the time. I feel like a lot of these guys kind of look up to me because I am the oldest guy on the team. And my dad coached the team two years, and a couple years ago. I can?t be that guy that?s kind of a ?hardo? all the time.
EM: Did you get a little nervous at all getting into that jam in the bottom of the fifth inning?
IV: I wasn?t nervous at all! Especially after we came in the half-inning before and got like three or four runs. I was OK with giving up a run or two but once we got to two outs, I knew we were going to be all right.
