JV Fillies finish second at home meet

HS Track: Iola JV

The Iola JV track team competed in their home invitational on Monday.

The Fillies finished second and the Mustangs finished 10th overall.

Taelyn Maley finished first in the 800 with a time of 2:47.69 which was a personal best by more than seven seconds.

Averie Sharon finished second in the 3200 with a time of 14.25 which was a season-best.

The 4×800 team of Maley, Sharon, Audrey Coltrane and Lori Carpenter finished first with a time of 12:26.59.

Ella Taylor finished second in both the triple jump (30’2”’) and the pole vault (7’0”’). Both were personal bests.

Gabby Lampe finished third in the pole vault with a height of 6’6”’.

Mara Iglesias-Gonzalez finished third in the 1600 with a time of 6:32.50 which was a personal best. She also finished third in the 3200 (14:53.00) and the 300-meter hurdles with a season-best time of 58.76.

The 4×400 team of Maley, Desiree McFadden, Dani Fees and Addison Mallette finished third with a time of 5:20.85.

For the Mustangs, Tavon Bass finished third in the 400 with a personal best time of 57.69.

The 4×800 team of Bass, Pieter Venter, Kalan Wright and Riley Jay finished third (10:08.00).

The varsity Mustangs and Fillies will compete in the Pioneer League meet on Thursday at Garnett.
