NJCAA officials are offering a lighter sentence to Allen Community College head coach Vince DeGrado after learning of the dismissal of charges by Texas courts.

According to a document obtained by the Register, the NJCAA decided Friday to revise their ruling on sanctions handed down to DeGrado after being informed that Lubbock County courts dismissed DeGrado’s Class A misdemeanor assault charge on Sept. 14.

In a letter addressed to ACC President John Masterson, NJCAA Chief Executive Officer Christopher Parker stated that DeGrado’s suspension would be reduced from through the 2019-2020 season to through the 2019 indoor track and field season.
