Pride of Kansas — and Iola

Kansas Sports Hall of Fame honors long-time Iola Mustang baseball coach, Mark Percy. Percy retired from his head coaching duties in the spring.

Mark Percy, center, who retired as Iola High School’s long-time baseball coach last spring, was honored at halftime of Friday’s Mustang football game by the Kansas Sports Hall of Fame, earning the “Pride of Kansas” Award.

Percy’s accomplishments include winning the Class 4A-II state baseball title in 2018, another state runner-up finish in 2014, and assisting with other sports in his extended coaching career.
