HESSTON — The Red Devil express continues to pick up steam.

While Allen Community College’s women allowed their first goal of the soccer season Saturday — they had shut out their first three opponents — it only delayed the inevitable.

Allen erupted for six goals in the second half to cruise past Hesston College, 7-1.

The victory keeps the Red Devils spotless at 4-0, having outscored their opponents by a combined 22-1.

Leading the charge was a familiar face in sophomore Dot Usher, who collected her third hat trick of the season, with all three goals coming in the second half onslaught.

Allen’s Samatha Burks scored off of a rebound at the 43:30 mark, but Hesston’s Julia Seifert scored the equalizer less than a minute later.

It didn’t take the Red Devils long to take control after intermission.

Autumn Wyatt gave ACC the lead for good at the 49:55 mark from 8 yards out, followed by a pair of Usher goals 10 minutes apart. The first came on penalty kick; the second on a free kick at the 65:30 mark from about 25 yards away.

Usher then assisted Maci Beacher less than 5 minutes later on a goal to make it 5-1. Yasmin Evans had a handle in Allen’s final two goals. She assisted Usher at 72:00, then scored off of a Burks’ assist 5 minutes later.

A closer examination of the statistics illustrated ACC’s dominance, particularly in the second half. They outshot Hesston 17-2 in the final 45 minutes and had 7 corner kicks compared to Hesston’s two.

Phoenix Michaelis, the reigning national goalkeeper of the week, had three saves.

With the game well in hand, Allen’s Alison Conrow was inserted as goalkeeper over the final 15 minutes of the contest. She had a save as well.

The Red Devils travel to Beatrice, Neb., on Wednesday to take on Southeast Community College.
