Rogers is KCAC hammer champion

Jackie Rogers, former Iola High standout and  Kansas Class 4A shot put champion, claimed the gold medal for the women’s hammer throw at the 2010 KCAC Championship Outdoor Track meet.
Rogers, a junior at Bethany College in Lindsbory, won the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference (KCAC) title with a throw of 151 feet, 6 inches.  She earned All-KCAC honors at the meet held April 30-May 1 at Ottawa University.
Rogers already had qualified for the NAIA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Her best hammer throw of the season was 154’10”.
Next up for Rogers is the national meet, which is May 27-29 in Marion, Ind. Rogers competes in the hammer throw on May 27 and is seeded 27th in the event.
