Three area basketball players honored by TVL

Three area players received postseason honors from Tri-Valley League coaches. The 2010 All-Tri-Valley League basketball teams were selected by league coaches last week.
Humboldt High senior Tevin Strack and Yates Center High junior Dalton Smith received first-team honors.
Joining them on the boys’ first team were senior Mackenzie Redding, junior Zak Martin and sophomore Blake Thomsen, all of Burlington; seniors Gable Laforge and Chad Dick of Caney Valley; seniors Dillon Blake and Roman Lopez and junior Micah Booe of Cherryvale; Fredonia senior Devin Baker and Neodesha senior Brett Schurle.
Caney Valley senior Matt Barlow and Eureka junior Tyler Spore earned honorable mention.
Yates Center High senior Kassy Reynolds earned All-Tri-Valley League honorable mention.
Selected to the girls’ All-TVL first-team were Bur-lington seniors Heather Eddings and Korinn Card; Caney Valley sophomore Kayla Clapp and freshman Bethany Barlow; Cherryvale senior Brianne Smedley; Eureka junior Taylyn Schwartz and freshman Ashlen Schwartz; Fredonia junior Kaitlyn Rogers and sophomore Christina Graves and Neodesha senior Taylor Giger.
Other TVL girls receiving honorable mention were seniors Katlyn O’Conner and Autumn Kirchner of Burlington, junior Kati Hiner of Caney Valley and Eueka senior Kathleen McKenzie.
